  • CATEGORY : Community Outreach .
  • Work Duration : 2019-2022

Kane Street over the Brooklyn Queens Expressway (I-278) is a roadway bridge located in a busy mixed-use Brooklyn neighborhood. After many years, the bridge has reached the end of its service life and requires rehabilitation.

Located adjacent to NYCDOT's major I-278 project, Melissa Johnson Associates assists the design team with identifying potential community issues, including work zone traffic control and MPT concerns, parking and bike lane access, and scheduling considerations. MJA's outreach team also provides NYCDOT with outreach plans and assists with presenting the project to various stakeholders for input and feedback to incorporate into the design.
