The New York State Department of Transportation has initiated the Hunts Point Interstate Access and Improvement Project (Contract 3), an initiative to improve access between the Hunts Point Peninsula and the Bruckner Expressway and Sheridan Boulevard. 

Melissa Johnson Associates is managing the public outreach strategy for the project, which involves close coordination with many local businesses, residents and motorists in the South Bronx. The project’s full-time community liaison is on-site daily working with the design-build team to mitigate construction impacts for all stakeholders. MJA also coordinates with NYSDOT to alert motorists of impacts to the Bruckner Expressway, Bruckner Boulevard and local streets.
