The New York City Department of Transportation initiated the rehabilitation of the Southern Boulevard Bridge over CSX in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx. Located directly adjacent to restaurants and residences, the bridge carries travel and parking lanes in each direction.
Melissa Johnson Associates provided a dedicated community liaison who worked with the local community to mitigate construction issues and concerns. Through attending local community meetings, collaborating with neighborhood stakeholders, and coordinating with other agencies, the public and local community were made aware of upcoming changes and impacts as a result of construction.
