The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is making accessibility improvements at stations throughout New York City as part of its long-term commitment to systemwide accessibility. As part of this project, escalator replacements are taking place at Sutphin Blvd- Archer Avenue station and West 4th Street station.
Melissa Johnson Associates is part of the Project Management Consultant (PMC) team representing the MTA as work progresses on eleven stations for elevator replacements, and on two stations for escalator replacements. MJA’s staff oversees the design-build team’s outreach program manager, and assists with MTA with engagement to stakeholders, including residents, businesses, community boards, and elected officials.
The team also oversees notifications to MTA customers regarding points of access and egress at stations and changes in subway service, and works with local residents and businesses to communicate local staging and street-level impacts.
