MTA PMC ADA Upgrades Packages 6 & 7

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is making historic investments into stations across the five boroughs as a part of its long-term commitment to systemwide accessibility. As a part of this initiative, new elevators and service elements are being installed at Norwood Avenue, Burnside Avenue, Myrtle Avenue, Avenue I and Middletown Road stations.

Melissa Johnson Associates is managing public outreach on behalf of MTA and the project management team for these improvements. MJA coordinates and communicates with local residents and businesses through grassroots outreach, signage, construction bulletins, notifications and email blasts. MJA’s outreach staff develops and assists MTA’s Government and Community Relations staff with outreach to elected officials and community boards, and is responsible for developing presentations and outreach materials. MJA also manages the design-build team's outreach project manager and oversees notification to the traveling public, including motorists, transit users, pedestrians and cyclists, of street level impacts including detours, sidewalk closures, and staircase or escalator closures at stations.
