MTA ADA Accessibility Upgrades

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is making historic investments into stations across the five boroughs as part of its long-term commitment to systemwide accessibility.

Melissa Johnson Associates is managing public outreach on behalf of MTA and the design-build team for improvements at Parkchester-East 177th Street Station in the Bronx, 137th Street-City College Station in Manhattan, Bay Ridge-95th Street Station in Brooklyn, and Northern Boulevard Station in Queens. Upgrades include elevator installations and repairs, escalator installations, stairs and sidewalk rehabilitation, reconstruction of platform edges, installation of tactile tiles, and state-of-good repair and utility improvements.

On behalf of the project team, MJA is responsible for managing outreach to local residents and businesses, development of project communication materials including signage, notifications and email blasts, and assisting the MTA with outreach to elected officials and community boards.
