In 2025, the Town of Manchester began developing a comprehensive Flood Resiliency Plan to identify vulnerabilities within its stormwater management infrastructure, understand the implications of extreme precipitation events, and develop strategies to reduce flood risk and protect properties, infrastructure, and community assets. The planning process involves data collection, technical flood risk analysis, and community engagement to inform the Plan’s findings and recommendations. The Plan will guide the Town in adapting to current and future climate impacts and pursuing funding for the implementation of priority projects.
Melissa Johnson Associates leads community outreach and engagement activities, and is responsible for background research, identifying and engaging with stakeholders, and developing the Community Engagement Plan that guides the process. MJA facilitates community meetings, prepares and disseminates bilingual outreach materials, and manages communications across the Town of Manchester’s e-newsletter, website, social media, and direct mailings. MJA also develops presentations, creates content for the project’s website, and designs online surveys to gather community input. Throughout the project, MJA documents engagement findings, activities, and input to inform the final report.
