In 2020, NYSDOT began a design-build project to reconstruct the East Lincoln Avenue bridge over the Hutchinson River Parkway and Hutchinson River in Mount Vernon and Pelham, Westchester County. MJA’s full-time community liaison coordinates closely with municipalities, residents, and nearby residents to inform them of expected impacts, including preparing detailed presentations for town and village officials. The liaison coordinates with the project team and municipalities to mitigate traffic impacts near the project site to reduce travel delays and improve safety in the area. In addition, the community liaison communicates regularly with local agencies and offices, including Westchester County Bee-Line Buses to ensure that they are kept apprised of new traffic patterns during construction.
