On behalf of the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), Melissa Johnson Associates is conducting public outreach to low and moderate-income residents in housing complexes across the city. As part of this initiative, MJA’s senior staff recruited, trained and supervised numerous NYCHA residents in best practices for grassroots community outreach. MJA’s outreach and engagement with residents supports NYCHA’s overall goals to maintain and improve safety within residential housing complexes. MJA’s role includes obtaining information and feedback from NYCHA residents on safety improvements and unit repairs needed based on the composition of each household and the current status of units in housing complexes across New York City. MJA managed the project with an aggressive schedule to ensure compliance with NYCHA’s internal schedules. MJA’s outreach teams worked throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, ensuring safety of all workers and residents by following proper health and safety procedures during local residential outreach campaigns.
