The Raise Shorelines Citywide Study, funded through Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-DR) funds for disaster recovery, received by the Office of Recovery and Resiliency and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, evaluated more than 600 miles of NYC shorelines to identify and prioritize locations in need of heightened coastal edges and reinforced shorelines.
Stakeholder Engagement
To assist the City of New York with planning resiliency improvements to areas across New York City, Melissa Johnson Associates is managing stakeholder engagement to impacted parties, including homeowners, community boards, the Public Design Commission, emergency responders, residents and businesses. On behalf of EDC and the Mayor’s Office, MJA ensures that the design projects are seen into further planning and construction without any contention within the local community. Work includes developing outreach plans and strategies on a per project basis, developing print and digital distribution materials, designing presentations, and coordinating briefings and meetings.
